Tom is one The Simon Law Group's first trial attorneys joining the firm in 2011. He has been the lead trial attorney for dozens of cases with The Simon Law Group obtaining millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements. He has also assisted with nearly a hundred trials, taking key depositions of defendants and experts and preparing witnesses. His practice focuses on all aspects of personal injury and wrongful death, helping those who've been injured in car, truck, pedestrian, motorcycle, bus, bicycle, slip and fall, and sexual assault incidents. Tom has a tremendous passion for helping his clients and advocating on their behalf.
Tom is graduate of the renowned Gerry Spence's Trial Lawyers College and regularly volunteers his time to other trial lawyers by helping them with story development, jury selection, witness preparation, opening statements, and closing arguments. He is actively involved in the community as a board member of the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Charity, where he spends time reading to children in after school day care programs, feeding the homeless by making them breakfast and lunch, working with battered women and helping persons with disabilities by ensuring they have the resources necessary to have the quality of life they deserve.
He is also a member of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles (CAALA), Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), Los Angeles County Bar Association and Beverly Hills Bar Association. Tom's work has not gone unnoticed in the legal community, he's been nominated for CAALA's "New Trial Lawyer of the Year" award and CAOC's "Street Fighter of the Year" trial award.
Prior to law school, Tom attended the University of California, Santa Cruz where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Political Science, and Philosophy. He studied at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom where he focused on international politics, world history, and counter intelligence. During his college years, he also worked for United States Congressman Sam Farr in Washington D.C. helping people with their concerns and assisting lawmakers.
Having attended Pepperdine School of Law, Tom earned his Juris Doctorate degree and Certificate in Dispute Resolution in 2010. He was a member of both Pepperdine's Trial Advocacy and Negotiation Teams where he was a nationally recognized negotiator. Upon graduation, he returned to Pepperdine to help coach their negotiation team to the regional finals.
Tom is admitted to practice in California state courts as well as federal district courts in Central District of California.
Tom is a first generation Los Angeles native. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wonderful wife Erica and dog "Buddy", watching his favorite L.A. sports teams, and cooking delicious meals for friends and family, especially his 10 hour braised short ribs and whole crusted red snapper.

- Multi-Million Dollar Verdict for Teenage Girl Sexually Assaulted
Represented a teenage girl who was sexually assaulted by her neighbor both at his home and at his work. We were able to prove that the neighbor's employer knew of past sexual misconduct with other female employees. The teenage girl suffered severe emotional trauma from the repeated sexual assaults. A jury found the employer primarily responsible for permitting the sexual assault to take place at work.
- $1.2 Million Verdict for Man who Lost his Life in Trucking Incident
Represented the family of a security guard who was killed when he stepped in front of a moving truck that should not have been moving. Defendant trucking company blamed the entire incident on the security guard and refused to accept responsibility hiring several experts to fight the case. Silva et. al. vs. C.V. Fruits
- $616,140.23 Jury Verdict for Man Who Tripped and Fell in Target Store
Represented an elderly man who tripped over a floor display while shopping at a Target store in Pacoima, CA. The plaintiff had recently gone through a cataract surgery, was wearing dark sun glasses, and did not notice the low-tier shelving, which contributed to his fall. He suffered facial lacerations and ongoing headaches and back pain. After a four day jury trial, the jury found in favor of the plaintiff, awarding him $616,140.23 in damages with no comparative fault. This was a substantial verdict considering the plaintiff's medical bills were only $18,140.23. Florencio Balderas v. Target Corporation
- $400,000 Jury Verdict for Women Injured in Rear-End Collision
Tom was able to obtain a verdict that exceeded the defendant's insurance policy limits when he represented a plaintiff who was rear ended in stop and go traffic on the freeway. There was very little property damage to the vehicles involved, however as a result of the car collision, the plaintiff suffered injuries to her shoulder and herniated a disc in her neck. The jury awarded the women $375,000 and her husband received $25,000 for the loss of consortium. Davalos vs. McShane
- $390,000 for Woman who Slipped and Fell in 99 Cents Store
Represented a woman who slipped and fell due to water on the ground in a 99 Cents Only Store, sustaining major injuries to her knee. The store conveniently had no working video cameras at the time of the incident. The firm was able to secure a key witness to attest to the hazardous floor condition which led to a $390,000 recovery on behalf of the plaintiff. Hernandez v. 99 Cents Only Store, Inc.
