Settlement $6,500,000

A drunk driver got through a road closure set up by a private contractor and a public entity.  The drunk driver hit and killed a young worker within the closure.  He had a minimal policy.  The private contractor and public entity paid together 6M via a settlement just short of trial.  After over 40 depositions we were able to uncover the repeated practice of poor road closures and the constant occurrence of drunk drivers breeching the closure.  Both entities will now make their policies safer.
