Anthony Ellis

Anthony grew up in some of the rougher parts of Los Angeles until he moved to the San Fernando Valley in his late teens. Growing up in L.A he learned at a very young age to always stick up for yourself and others. To always fight for what you believe in no matter how big or powerful the opposition seems. This is something he brings to every case he works on.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Anthony was a California licensed business broker and also worked in the field of property financing. His biggest joy of working as a business broker was helping families, newlyweds, recent immigrants and other hard working people realize their dreams of owning their own business. He loved putting together difficult deals by finding ways to make the impossible, possible. The most challenging part of helping people buy and sell businesses is getting the buyer and seller to meet on middle ground-this is where Anthony shines. For years he worked with people from an array of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds. Understanding and appreciating different cultures and beliefs was key to his success in the business brokerage world and later as an attorney. Anthony believes this is the best way to truly understand the needs and goals of your clients and those on the other side of the table. A belief that also helps Anthony better connect with a jury of diverse backgrounds.

Anthony’s constant itch for the heat of the negotiation table, his passion for helping the underdogs and his belief to always stand up for what is right, led him to the field of law. There is no better place for him than representing injured plaintiffs against big insurance companies. His years of non-legal negotiation experience allows him to think outside the box-whether in the midst of trial or at the negotiation table.

He received his Juris Doctrine from Pepperdine University School of Law. During law school Anthony’s skills in trial advocacy and negotiation got him coveted spots as a member of the trial team, the negotiation team and the mediation team. He was also a student member of the American Association of Justice, Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles and Consumer Attorneys of California.

Anthony’s passion for helping those in need led him to create “Law Students as Catalyst for the Youth” (LSCY), a student organization that places law students in positions to mentor at-risk youth in juvenile detention facilities with the goal of getting them back into school an eventually college. LSCY lives on today and has become a proud part of Pepperdine Law School. LSCY has grown into providing other services such as food drives, fund raisers and other charitable contributions to underprivileged families and youth. Anthony continues to volunteer at a local juvenile detention facility. Anthony also volunteers his services to the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Charity, which focuses on issues related to education, children, battered women, persons with disabilities, and homelessness.

Prior to law school Anthony received his bachelor’s degree in Economics. He graduated with honors and received the prestigious “Award of Excellence” for achieving one of the highest GPAs in his major.

One of Anthony’s hobbies and stress relievers is training in martial arts. He believes a good kick to the head really helps to put things in perspective. Whether you’re doing the kicking or receiving one.
