Verdict $4,000,000

Robert T. Simon and Brad M. Simon of The Simon Law Group, LLP; and Catherine Lerer and Daniel M. McGee of McGee, Lerer, & Associates obtained a special jury verdict of $4.0M against the County of Los Angeles for an accident causing plaintiff to suffer traumatic amputation of his dominant hand, along with other injuries to himself and his family, who were passengers. Plaintiff extended a pre-trial 998 offer to compromise of $2,649,999.99, which was denied by the county of Los Angeles. Ultimately, the denial worked in plaintiff’s favor, as plaintiff was ultimately awarded $1,350,000.01 more than their pre-trial 998 offer.
