Verdict $16,486,072

On December 23, 2014, a Los Angeles jury returned an award of $16,486,072.32 for plaintiff Norbert Pickett. Mr. Pickett was the victim of a light impact rear end car accident in May of 2012. Since that date, he had a cervical fusion surgery that was redone, and a lumbar fusion surgery. Plaintiff waived past and future lost earnings, so this award was solely past and future medical bills, and pain and suffering ($15,000,000.00). Insurer was State Farm. Defendant’s new trial motion was denied, and with costs and prejudgment interest the judgment to date is in excess of $18,000,000.00.
