Health Effects

What Methyl Methacrylate Exposure Can Do

Methyl methacrylate (MMA) is a volatile chemical with a strong, sharp odor. Short-term exposure to MMA vapor is known to cause a range of symptoms.

Eye, nose & throat irritation Coughing & shortness of breath Headache Dizziness Nausea Skin & eye irritation

People with asthma or other respiratory conditions, young children, older adults, and pregnant residents can be more sensitive to these effects. If you or a family member experienced symptoms during or after the release, document them and seek medical attention. A medical record created close in time to the exposure matters.

I was evacuated but I don’t feel hurt. Do I still have a case?
You may. Harm from an event like this is not only physical. Evacuation costs, lost wages, business disruption, and the loss of safe use of your home can all be part of a claim. A free case review will tell you what may apply to your situation.
What if my children’s school was closed?
